Two local Christmas charities have received a large record setting donation from Jackpot City and the St.Thomas Charitable Gaming Association. Christmas Care St. Thomas and the Elgin – St. Thomas Christmas Shoppe are splitting the $20,640 donation. In addition to the funds 3,000 pounds of food and boxes of clothing and toys were also donated.
Charity Coordinator Ron Ellsworth says that this donation sets a new benchmark for them.
The funds were raised from donations from their customers in November and December , $5 from each special Sunday bingo package and donations from each of the 85 charities that operate out of Jackpot City Gaming.
