The St. Thomas Royal Canadian Legion Lord Elgin Branch 41 made a $20,600 donation to the St. Joseph’s Health Care Foundation from this year’s poppy campaign. The funds will go to support the purchase of 3 ceiling lifts at Parkwood Hospital.
The poppy fund saw money raised through poppy donations, Remembrance Day wreath purchases and corporate donations.
1st Vice President and Public Relations Officer Tony Bendel says that they’re pleased to help make veterans lives a little easier with their donations.+
Bendel says that the legion has had a long history of supporting Parkwood Hospital and they’re happy to be able to continue it.
