The St. Thomas Elgin General Hospital is looking back on 2019 in a year which saw them be very successful in a number of different areas. The hospital’s board approved a new 4 year strategic plan and mission statement which provides them with a good plan moving forward. The hospital also expanded their mammography unit which led to them being an accredited breast assessment program.
The hospital was also accredited exemplary standing from Accreditation Canada this year which CEO Robert Biron says is a reflection on all areas of the hospital.
Biron says that one of the challenges for the hospital this year was managing the increase in services at the hospital such as emergency visits. Looking into 2020 the hospital will continue to create collaborative networks and integrating their services with other partners.
