The St. Thomas Fire Department moved forward in a number of different areas thanks to the dedication and commitment of their staff. That’s the message from Fire Chief Bob Davidson who says that he is proud of the work that they accomplished in 2019.
This year the department is on pace to see a significant increase in their calls for service and also the number of fires in the City is also on pace to increase.
Davidson says that the increase in numbers will guide them in their recommendations to council.
Davidson says that some of the new initiatives they implemented this year was a new community alerting system, tablets in their first response vehicles and a new digital microwave radio system.
