A Snow squall watch is in effect for both St. Thomas and Elgin County today. This is due to the brief, but intense snowfall that is expected to develop this morning.
Flurries will develop early this morning, with a brief period of heavy snow expected later in the morning.
Strong wind gusts of up to 70 km/h are also anticipated. The combination of heavy snow and strong winds will result in reduced visibility. Travel may be hazardous due to sudden changes in the weather and visibility may be suddenly reduced at times.
We know that weather is always changing, so stayed tuned to myFM for updates on local weather conditions, power outages, and any closures that may take place.
