St. Thomas has welcomed its very first baby of the New Year.
Parents John and Katharina Penner welcomed a son who they named Carl at the St. Thomas Elgin General Hospital at 5:30 p.m. on New Year’s Day (Jan 1), making him the first baby born at STEGH in 2020.
Carl Penner was born weighing 8 pounds, 15 ounces and is the 11th child for John and Katharina.
Carl joins his 7 brothers and 3 sisters that make up the Penner family.
