An empowering event that looks at celebrating women doing amazing things in our community will be coming to the St. Anne’s Centre on April 9th. The event titled “100 Women Who Care Elgin” will see $100 contributions from 100 women in the community to create a $10,000 grant that will be awarded to a deserving woman run initiative, charity or business in Elgin County. The $100 contribution will also permit a vote on who they think deserves the grant.
Co-organizer Jazz Staddon says as individuals, we may never be able to give $10,000 but as a group of 100, a donation of that amount can be attained together.
Staddon says that those wishing to apply for the grant opportunity are asked to email 100women@teamsd.ca for more information.
94.1 myFM’s very own Samantha Wakefield will also be the MC for the event that will feature presentations, entertainment, dancing, snacks, door prizes and a cash bar.
Those wishing to attend, but not cast a vote can purchase a ticket for $30 by clicking here.
