Extendicare in Port Stanley is thanking a local couple as well as the community of Elgin County for supplying presents to their seniors over Christmas. Residents at Extendicare were some of the lucky recipients of Christmas gifts through the local Smile for Seniors initiative.
For the 5th year in a row, the residents were able to wake up on Christmas morning with a gift, as many of them wouldn’t receive anything without the program.
Resident Program Manager Kathy Cook says it brings the staff at Extendicare just as much joy as it does the residents.
Cook says they are very thankful to Bill and Sherry Marlatt as well as the community for their ongoing efforts to make sure everyone has a gift at Christmas time.
