45,000 Ontario English Catholic teachers will begin a work-to-rule campaign on Monday if a tentative agreement is not made.
Without a tentative contract agreement, the Ontario English Catholic Teachers’ Association says its members will start administrative job action beginning January 13th. A decision to stop performing administrative duties will affect schools in the London District Catholic School Board.
OECTA said Catholic elementary and secondary school teachers would stop preparing report cards, taking part in activities related to EQAO testing, or participating in Ministry of Education initiatives.
This announcement comes ahead of scheduled bargaining for Thursday and Friday.
OECTA President Liz Stuart says its bargaining group has done its part to negotiate an agreement and blames the Ontario government’s conduct for the failure to reach an agreement.
