The 2019 Railway City Road Races was once again a major success! Members of the Railway City Road Races (RCRR) committee and the St. Thomas Elgin General Hospital (STEGH) Foundation came together to celebrate the event that saw a $14,000 donation for Orthopedics presented to the Foundation.
Held on September 22nd, 2019 at the historic CASO Station in St. Thomas, the 6th annual race saw an impressive turn out of more than 400 participants.
Since its beginnings, the Railway City Road Races has raised more than $98,000. The event, which included the Rob Broadbent half marathon, 10 km run, 5 km run and walk, and a children’s Choo Choo Challenge for families, saw tremendous success with community members of all ages.
In 2015, the event rebranded the race to “Railway City Road Races” from “Lace Up for STEGH” to reflect the success and the contributions from the Railway City community.
