Across Canada and the entire world, the crafting community is coming together to send handmade wraps and pouches to agencies helping animals affected by bushfires in Australia.
Tammy Wilson-Tapsell has taken up the cause in St. Thomas, becoming a local hub for people wanting to help.
Wilson-Tapsell says that her heart goes out to Australia.
She explains that she’s working with the Canadian Animal Rescue Craft Guild, which has almost doubled in members to over 10,000 people across Canada.
Wilson-Tapsell asks anyone who can sew, knit, or crochet the needed items to reach out to her through email at HelpingAussie@gmail.com
She’s also looking for anyone who may be able to bring collected items to Australia and hopes to collect any yarn, 100% cotton fabric, or fleece that people may be willing to donate.
