Today myFM is celebrating local coaches and the impact they’ve had on athletes in Elgin County with our Hooray for Coaches Day feature, presented by Briwood Farm Market.
We spoke with Angie Mailhot who is a local wellness and fitness coach. Mailhot works with youth in Elgin County through many different avenues such as football combines, basketball camps and clinics, athletic training for hockey and works one on one with high achieving athletes in the area.
Mailhot says she has always had a love for health and fitness and has been an athlete herself for her entire life but her work with youth began as her kids started getting more involved in sports.
Mailhot says there are many rewarding parts to the job but it means the world to hear the feedback from youth that she has impacted their life in a positive way.
Mailhot says the moments that stick out most to her as a coach are seeing kids evolve over the years.
