Around 5 p.m. last night the St. Thomas Fire Department responded to an alarm call at 76 Churchill Crescent. The department reports that a fire that broke out in the second story of the apartment building was quickly extinguished by fire crews.
All tenants that were inside the building were quickly evacuated, resulting in no injuries as a result of the fire.
At this time the cause of fire in the city owned building is not known, however it is still under investigation.
