A 26 year-old St. Thomas man is facing multiple charges after police found a female in distress on Thursday night.
Around 11:30 p.m. officers were conducting a routine traffic stop on Manitoba Street when a female in distress appeared on the street from a nearby residence.
Police called in local EMS for assistance when they observed that the woman was bleeding from the head and nose.
She was then transported to the St. Thomas Elgin General Hospital with serious but not life threatening injuries. Upon further investigation police discovered that the 36 year-old woman was assaulted when an argument with her boyfriend became physical.
The accused was taken into custody where he was charged with one count Assault Causing Bodily Harm and one count Breach of Release Conditions.
