The Municipality of Central Elgin have announced that they have joined forces with Voyent Alert! The Voyent Alert! system is used to notify residents when an emergency occurs in the area such as floods or fires. Although very import during emergencies, the app can also be used for non-critical events such as road closures, weather advisories, water restrictions and so much more.
Voyent Alert! goes beyond the traditional text based offering by displaying a personalized map, distance and direction from an incident, important safety information, addresses of the nearest shelters and more within each notification.
Residents are encouraged to download the free app in order to stay informed and stay safe. The City of St. Thomas has been using the software since April of 2019. To learn more about the app, you can click here.
