A 2 vehicle collision that took place on Talbot Line on Sunday resulted in numerous people having to be extracted from their vehicles. Around 6 p.m. the Elgin County OPP were called to Talbot Line between Penhale Road and Powers Road, after a westbound minivan went into the eastbound lanes striking a two door car traveling eastbound.
Central Elgin Fire Rescue, along with St. Thomas Elgin Paramedics attended the scene of the crash, where fire crews extracted numerous people from both vehicles. Four people in the minivan and two people in the compact car were transported to hospital with injuries ranging from minor to serious, but not life-threatening.
The OPP report that road and weather conditions were a factor in the collision, however the investigation is continuing.
