A movie that was written and filmed here in Elgin County will be making its big screen debut this Thursday at Galaxy Cinemas in St. Thomas. The movie titled “Delusion” follows the real life story of Springfield native Kellen De Vos and his diagnosis of Schizophrenia back in 2008.
Since then De Vos has created the non-profit called Out There Creative Therapy (OTC Therapy) that allows people suffering from mental illness, a safe space to let out their creative side through art, writing, music, comedy, and film.
De Vos says that because of the program and the support of other groups, they were able to bring the movie to life.
OTC Therapy and CMHA Elgin PEPP will be showing the movie on Thursday, March 12th from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Tickets are $10.00 in advance, and $12.00 at the door. Tickets can be purchased at CMHA Elgin’s main office, located at 110 Centre Street, at Wish You Would Wear at 309 Talbot Street and online.
