In response to the COVID-19 pandemic, the St. Thomas Police Service is immediately adopting what it calls “responsible measures” to ensure the security of the community. Residents requiring non-emergency services are being asked to make that request via phone or email for the time being. Corporate Communications Coordinator Tanya Calvert explains this is to reduce face-to-face interaction at the police station wherever possible.
Calvert stresses this is for non-emergency situations only and the police are not reducing their service to the community.
By no means, adds Calvert, is the police station closed.
