Over the weekend, much changed rapidly in Canada’s efforts to contain the spread of COVID-19, and the Elgin – St. Thomas Community Foundation has revisited their plans for upcoming events. Here’s a summary:
1. Social Media Marketing Seminar March 24 – POSTPONED
The Social Media Marketing seminar scheduled for March 24 has been postponed. We will reschedule this event just as soon as the powers-that-be let us know it is safe to do so. If you have paid for this seminar, and would like your $15 refunded, rather than waiting for the rescheduled event to occur, please email Kelly at kscott@escf.ca or call 519-637-8230, and she will look after you.
2. Youth Vital Conversation April 9 – POSTPONED
This event was scheduled for the Talbot Teen Centre, but the Talbot Teen Centre has decided to close due to COVID-19 starting March 17, and will be reassessing its reopening on a week-by-week basis. Watch for a rescheduled date.
3. Annual General Meeting scheduled for April 14 – KEEP IT PENCILED IN
This event, as of the writing of this email, is four weeks away. If the curve flattens, and COVID-19 appears to be under control, we may proceed. Or we may look at online alternatives that meet our legal obligations. For now, we would ask that you please keep the date penciled in your calendars.
4. Trivia Tunes – May 9 – TEAMS WELCOMED
For this Music and Pop Culture event, please continue to put together teams and register them at 519-637-8230 or tcarroll@escf.ca. However, please note that we are not collecting further team registration fees, until we have the all-clear from health officials. As with everything associated with COVID-19, please stay tuned.
