Mayor Mary French has officially declared a State of Emergency for the Town of Aylmer in relation to COVID-19. This came after the Town of Aylmer Emergency Operations Control Group met to consider matters related to the continuity of essential services, employee safety and other emergency planning matters.
The four primary reasons for declaring this State of Emergency includes protecting volunteers, protecting staff and elected officials from litigious situations that could arise as a result of the emergency, assists with applying or receiving any availability of funding that may come as a result of the emergency, and most importantly, it conveys the seriousness of the circumstance to residents of the Municipality and creates awareness to other levels of Government and Officials that are willing to assist.
At this time all non-essential Town programs and services remain canceled. Town Hall remains closed to the public until further notice. This includes the closure of all recreational facilities and related programming. Going forward the Town of Aylmer will be posting all COVID-19 updates on a new page that can be found here.
