Prime Minister Justin Trudeau recently announced additional support for farmers amid the COVID-19 pandemic.
We spoke with John Geurtjens Vice President of Farm Credit Canada Ontario, a Crown corporation that offers financial support for farmers.
Geurtjens explains what the Prime Minister’s announcement means.
Geurtjens adds that the funding will allow them to introduce a new credit line that will deal with working capital, to help farmers get crops in the ground as soon as possible.
The news, he says, is especially important as a lot of farmers are coming off of a difficult crop year.
