For those struggling to come up with ways to entertain their kids while also implementing some educational aspects, the Ontario SPCA and Humane Society has you covered.
They are offering a free online educational series that meets Ontario curriculum requirements and teaches children about animals, called AnimalSmart.
AnimalSmart lesson plans are currently offered for Grades 1-3 and are designed to develop and maintain positive relationships with companion animals as education is one of the key ways that we can prevent cruelty.
In addition to informational videos and activities, the website also offers fun colouring pages, word searches, crosswords and more.
