Their name says it all, Best Damn Doors. The thing is, the St. Thomas firm is no longer making their namesake product but is, instead, doing its bit during the COVID-19 pandemic by designing and manufacturing much-needed face shields. Owner Brad Cairns says the transition from doors to shields – completed in just three days – made for a wild first week of business.
Cairns started producing the shields based on several designs he found on the internet.
Cairns and his staff are hoping to produce 500 of the shields each day in their Barrie Boulevard shop. He adds he doesn’t want to be doing this for long and would rather see a return to normal so he can continue to build the Best Damn Doors.
While most of the shields are destined for seniors’ facilities, the fire department and EMS employees, Cairns says the public can order a shield by visiting their website at bestdamndoors.ca.
