Ontario Premier Doug Ford says his top priority is protecting those living in long-term care homes.
Ford announced a new emergency order that restricts all long-term care workers to only work in one home.
Ford says tomorrow they will also launch an enhanced action plan to fight COVID-19 in long-term care homes which includes redeploying available workers to facilities experiencing an outbreak.
The Premier of Ontario says he will spare no expense to protect the most vulnerable in our communities.
He also extended its state of emergency in the province for another 28 days. The bill to extend the measure passed during a special session at the provincial legislature today (Tuesday).
Ford says it is too soon to relax measures as the province continues to fight the COVID-19 pandemic. The order closes non-essential businesses and child-care centres until May 12.
