St. Thomas Mayor Joe Preston says the city is staying the course. This, in response to discussions in Kingston about easing COVID-19 restrictions in areas less impacted by the pandemic.
Preston says he and the city’s COVID-19 emergency control team are basing all of their local decisions on input from medical officer of health, Dr. Joyce Lock and Southwestern Public Health.
A planned protest in front of St. Thomas city hall yesterday (Tuesday) afternoon calling on the city to ease up on restrictions failed to materialize.
Preston says if you want to ease restrictions, city hall is not the place. Protestors should be taking their message to Queen’s Park or the federal government.
