The Kettle Creek Conservation Authority has issued a Flood Watch for all shoreline areas within the KCCA watershed.
Residents along the Lake Erie Shoreline and in particular the Village of Port Stanley are reminded to remain vigilant as high winds that developed around the area yesterday will continue through Wednesday and then begin to diminish early Thursday.
Water Conservation Supervisor Jennifer Dow says with record high lake levels and windy conditions comes a heightened risk for flooding and erosion along the Lake Erie shoreline due to storm surge
Residents should take extra caution to avoid areas where flooding is occurring as well as creeks, streams and shoreline areas during significant rainfall and wind events. They are also reminded to be aware of their local conditions and take appropriate action when necessary as conditions can change quickly with little warning
This flood watch will remain in effect until May 1st, where the conditions will then be reevaluated.
