From the age of six, Waleed Chehadi had a sense that healthcare and medicine might possibly be in his future. He likely never dreamed he would eventually become the chief of staff at St. Thomas Elgin General Hospital
A dedicated professional, Dr. Chehadi notes the better part of a typical day for him is devoted to efforts to better improve the health of community members. Even his duties as chief of staff revolve around improving the delivery of health care to those in St. Thomas and Elgin county who require the services of the hospital.
The onset of the COVID-19 pandemic only heightened that sense of commitment engrained in Dr. Chehadi. Something clearly evident not only to those he deals with in a professional capacity, but also to his colleagues who he deals with on a daily basis.
Something he is most proud of is how the team at the hospital has risen to the challenge of the COVID-19 pandemic. When they come to work each day, Dr. Chehadi says it is with a sense of responsibility and with a smile on their face.
myFM and St. Thomas thank you Dr. Chehadi for making such a difference in St. Thomas and Elgin county by being a community builder.
