Starting Monday, provincial parks and conservation reserves across Ontario will begin to re-open for day use only as Premier Doug Ford continues to ease COVID-19 restrictions in a careful and cautious fashion. Jeff Yurek, Minister of the Environment, Conservation and Parks, provided details of the limited activities that will be permitted in the 520 parks and reserves with no admission charge until the end of the month.
Yurek said visitors will be able to walk, bike and hike, however campgrounds, beaches and playgrounds will remain closed.
The remaining 115 parks and reserves will open Friday. Yurek stressed visitors must continue with physical distancing and people should restrict their visits to parks and reserves in their immediate area.
