Dr. Leslie Bottrell may be working on the frontlines in New York, but St. Thomas, Ontario will always be home. Dr. Bottrell, a St. Thomas native was recently highlighted as a “Mother on the Frontline” in a special SportsCenter feature.
The feature follows Dr. Bottrell’s life as a mom and doctor working on the frontlines in one of the worst COVID-19 stricken areas in the United States and having to make the difficult decision to send her kids back to St. Thomas while her and her husband continue working in New York.
Also highlighted is her love of basketball and what the recent Toronto Raptors Championship win meant to her. Just as she begins to share how the victory felt, she gets a special surprise call from NBA All Star and Raptors guard Kyle Lowry
