Following a request from the St. Thomas Elgin General Hospital, over 1000 masks were delivered by #SewStrong for frontline workers at the hospital to use while they are out in the community. The group of local volunteers were called upon as STEGH workers need to be protected while out in the community while also saving the hospital grade PPE for use in the hospital.
Craig Watkin, Director of Medicine and Emergency Services says they are so thankful to everyone who contributed to this call to action in our community.
In addition to the donation of 1000 masks, 1000 3D printed ear savers were also donated to STEGH. In total the local group of 3D PPE printers have created 15,000 ear savers for businesses and organizations in St. Thomas and Elgin County.
