Although it won’t be the usual ceremony, Central Elgin Collegiate Institute will be celebrating their graduates in a special way this Friday.
From 8 a.m. to 9 p.m., the community is invited to celebrate the graduates by driving by the school beginning on High Street and then right onto Chestnut Street, where lawn signs containing names and pictures of each graduate will be set up in alphabetical order.
A group of parents and guardians have raised funds and have worked with the school and the Thames Valley District School Board to make this all possible.
Parent/guardian rep Shannon Glanville says that they were also able to raise enough money to supply each graduate with a special gift.
Glanville adds that a group of volunteers will be onsite on Friday to ensure that no groups are gathering and that everyone remains social distance.
