Elgin-Middlesex-London MP has a simple question for the Liberal government. Where is the money?
The funding in this case is $75 million promised last fall to front-line agencies involved in programs assisting victims of human trafficking. And now Vecchio and other Opposition MPs have fired off a letter to Prime Minister Justin Trudeau and some of his ministers denouncing their decision to allow funding to lapse. Vecchio says its comes down to poor execution on the government’s part.
This is about predators who prey on young women and girls, stressed Vecchio.
Because of its proximity to the Highway 401 corridor, the area is a hub for sex-trafficking and this money is not being forwarded to agencies when they need it most warned Vecchio.
She added, these programs are vital. They give victims a second chance.
