STEAM Centre seeking donations of old or unwanted computer components

While their doors have been closed due to the COVID-19 pandemic, staff at the STEAM Centre have been hard at work refurbishing old desktop computers for the community.

As myFM first informed you, the STEAM Centre has been using donations that would normally get used to run their re//BUILD.IT program to supply computers to families who are in need as online learning continues for students.

Executive Director Jessica Gransaull says so far they have been able to donate 10 computers to local families.

Gransaull says in order to continue offering these free computers, they are asking the community to donate old or unwanted desktop computers, monitors, keyboards and mice to the STEAM Centre.

They will be holding 2 drop off days on Thursday, June 4th and Tuesday, June 9th from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. where donations will be accepted at the front door of their facility at 745 Talbot Street.
