The Elgin County OPP are continuing to investigate following a serious motor vehicle collision that took place early this morning. Police report that the collision occurred around 2:11 a.m. in the westbound lanes of Highway 401, east of Furnival Road in West Elgin.
OPP say that a single motor vehicle that was traveling westbound entered the ditch, striking a road sign, where it then rolled several times.
The lone occupant of the vehicle was transported to hospital with life threatening injuries. The OPP’s Technical Traffic Collision investigators were on scene assisting with the investigation, however the road has since re-opened.
