Although the St. Anne’s grounds weren’t filled with rides and games this past weekend, the St. Anne’s Community Festival Board is still moving forward with some local donations.
For the past 48 years the St. Anne’s Community Festival has been supporting local charitable endeavors through donations, with almost 1 million dollars raised to date. Despite the cancellation of this years festival, the board has made some recent donations to the St. Thomas Elgin Food Bank, Inn Out of the Cold, and Grace Cafe.
Director Joe Fleming says the donations came from their reserve fund in order to help support the community during this time.
Fleming says with the current pandemic still affecting much of the community, they wanted to do what they could to help out the organizations supporting the people of St. Thomas and Elgin County.
