28 year old David Giesbrecht of St. Thomas is facing a slew of charges following an incident that took place on Erie Street Tuesday night. The St. Thomas Police report that the OPP had stopped Giesbrecht Wednesday on Yarmouth Centre Road and were dealing with him when officers discovered he was wanted by the STPS.

It’s reported that Giesbrecht then jumped on the victim’s vehicle stomping on the windshield until it broke and fled the scene prior to police arrival.
As a result the 28 year old has been charged with Assault With a Weapon, Mischief Under $5000, four counts Possession of a Prohibited Weapon, Possession of a Prohibited Device and two count Breach of Release Conditions.
He was held for a court appearance.
