Southwestern Public Health is reporting 8 ongoing COVID-19 cases in their region, following the announcement of a case in Dutton Dunwich and another in Oxford County. In total there are now 2 ongoing cases in St. Thomas, 1 in Dutton Dunwich and 5 in Oxford County.
In the Southwestern Public Health coverage area, 7,284 people have been tested as of Wednesday, with 6,733 negative results and 469 pending. A total of 70 cases have now been resolved.
You are reminded that the St. Thomas Elgin General Hospital is now taking appointments for those that wish to get tested for COVID-19. SWPH is also sharing the number of COVID-19 swabs done at each hospital in their region, with STEGH completing 161 swabs on June 15th.
Ontario is reporting 190 new cases of COVID-19 today, along with 12 new deaths related to the virus.
The total number of cases now stands at 32,744, which includes more than 2500 deaths and more than 27,000 cases marked as resolved.
The number of people in hospital dropped to 383 today, which is the lowest number since the province started reporting that figure in early April.
The numbers of people in intensive care and on a ventilator also dropped to their lowest levels since the figures were first reported.
