An advocacy organization for Ontario’s manufacturing sector says a rise in craft breweries has meant big employment gains in the last decade. A study from the Trillium Network for Advanced Manufacturing says employment in Ontario breweries grew from 22-hundred in 2010 to more than 58-hundred by 2019.
Paul Corriveau established Railway City Brewing a dozen years ago in St. Thomas and the growth of the craft brewer mirrors advancements elsewhere in the province.
Corriveau says that growth has not been without challenges.
The study notes growth among craft brewers more than offset declines in employment at larger beer companies.
