The Ontario government has extended most of the emergency orders currently in force under the Emergency Management and Civil Protection Act.
This new extension will be in effect until July 29th, 5 days after the Ontario State of Emergency is set to expire, hinting that it too will be extended.
The move is meant to provide the government with the necessary flexibility to ensure the protection of vulnerable populations, such as seniors, while continuing to implement its Framework for Reopening the Province.
Premier Doug Ford says that “Although the trends in public health indicators continue to improve, we must remain on our guard and only relax emergency orders if and when safe to do so”.
