The St. Thomas Police Service will once again be accepting school supplies on behalf of the United Way Elgin Middlesex to help give students the Best First Day.
Last year, the annual community-wide school supply drive was able to deliver over 3,800 backpacks full of supplies to students of all ages in need across the entire Thames Valley District School Board, in addition to Indigenous communities, the London District Catholic School Board, and several community agencies.
With the lingering financial impact of the COVID-19 pandemic, an increase in demand for backpacks and school supplies among students is expected. The United Way is looking for donations of Backpacks, Markers/Pencil Crayons, Lunch Bags, Pencils, Pencil Cases, Scientific Calculators and Water bottles.
Locally you can drop off your donation at the Colin McGregor Justice Building at 45 CASO Crossing, anytime until August 7th.
For more information or to make a online donation, you can visit bestfirstday.ca.
