Southwestern Public Health is reporting 6 new cases of COVID-19 and 1 more resolved case today. There are now 51 active cases in the region with 2 new cases in Aylmer and 4 in Bayham.
The health unit also announced that a case in Tillsonburg has been resolved.
There are now 25 active cases in Aylmer, 10 in Bayham, 4 in St. Thomas and 1 in Central Elgin. Elsewhere in the health unit’s coverage area, there are 6 cases in Tillsonburg and 4 in Norwich.
An additional case involves an individual who resides outside the province.
As announced yesterday, beginning today, the health unit has made face covers mandatory in all indoor public spaces.
Dr. Joyce Lock, Medical Officer of Health for Southwestern Public Health stresses face masks must be worn properly to provide maximum protection.
The policy covers all commercial establishments, public transit, and commercial service vehicles.
Ontario has confirmed 134 new cases of COVID-19 today, bringing the total number of cases in the Province to 39,209.
The Province also confirmed 3 new COVID-19 related deaths today and the total number of deaths now sits at 2,775. Meanwhile another 168 people have made a full recovery, bringing the total number of resolved cases to 35,074.
