Southwestern Public Health is reporting 6 new confirmed cases of COVID-19 today, all of them in East Elgin. The health unit is also reporting 2 new resolved cases, both coming out of Oxford County.
There are now 86 ongoing cases across the region with 50 active cases in Aylmer, 19 in Bayham and 2 in St. Thomas.
Elsewhere in the health unit’s coverage area, there are 9 cases in Tillsonburg and 5 in Norwich. An additional case involves an individual who resides outside the province.
Since the pandemic was declared, Aylmer has had a total of 55 cases which works out to a crude rate of 734 cases per 100,000 population.
By comparison, St. Thomas has had a sum total of 27 cases or a crude rate of 69 per 100,000 population.
As of today, 101 cases have been resolved across the health unit’s coverage area.
