For the first time in several weeks, there was a significant drop in the number of ongoing cases of COVID-19 in the Southwestern Public Health coverage area over the weekend. As of Sunday, the health unit is reporting 70 ongoing cases, down from 77 on Saturday.
There are now 39 active cases in Aylmer, 18 in Bayham and 2 in St. Thomas. Elsewhere in the health unit’s coverage area, there are 9 cases in Tillsonburg and 2 in Norwich. An additional case involves an individual who resides outside the province.
Of the ongoing cases 13 individuals – falls in the 50 to 59 age bracket, with 14 individuals between the ages of 20 and 29. There currently are 4 confirmed cases in children under nine years of age.
As of Sunday, 127 cases have been resolved across the health unit’s coverage area.
