Southwestern Public Health is reporting 5 new cases of COVID-19 today along with 8 resolved cases. Of the 5 new cases announced today, 4 of those have come out of Bayham and 1 out of Aylmer.
There are now 37 active cases in Aylmer, 19 in Bayham and 2 in St. Thomas. Elsewhere in the health unit’s coverage area, there are 9 cases in Tillsonburg, 1 in Norwich and 1 new case in Woodstock.
Since the pandemic began, a total of 61 cases have been confirmed in Aylmer, 34 in Bayham, 27 in St. Thomas and 24 in Tillsonburg, with some municipalities in the health units coverage area reporting a total of 1 or 0 cases.
As of Tuesday, 140 cases have been resolved across the health unit’s coverage area.
Ontario is reporting its lowest daily count of new COVID-19 cases in several months, with 33 new cases reported today.
But Health Minister Christine Elliott says the drop is partly due to “routine data clean-up.”
She says Toronto Public Health removed 21 cases, including some duplicates, from its total.
Elliott says an additional 75 cases have been resolved.
