A local father/daughter duo are using the remaining time before kids go back to school to cycle for a good cause.
Dyllan Bretz and his 12 year old daughter Zoey have been using their spare time throughout the month of August to join in on the Great Cycle Challenge Canada, which is a fundraiser in support of research to develop treatments and find a cure for childhood cancer.
Dyllan says that although they decided to join to cycle challenge for many reasons including the health benefits, cancer has had a big impact on their family’s life.
So far the pair have ridden roughly 84 kms of their 200 km goal and are very close to surpassing their fundraising goal of $1500. Despite that, the duo are determined now more than ever to raise as much as possible to help in the fight against childhood cancer.
For the entire day on Thursday, all donations to their page will be matched up to $1 million, with tax receipts provided for all donations.
Dyllan says that all sizes of donations are welcome as every dollar counts towards their total.
To help support Dyllan, Zoey, and children across the country dealing with a childhood cancer diagnosis, you can donate here.
