Southwestern Public Health is reporting 3 new cases of COVID-19 today, along with 12 newly resolved cases.
Of the 3 new cases announced today, 2 of those have come out of Aylmer and 1 out of St. Thomas.
There are now 32 active cases in Aylmer, 17 in Bayham and 3 in St. Thomas. Elsewhere in the health unit’s coverage area, there are 8 cases in Tillsonburg, with the Norwich and Woodstock cases announced as resolved.
Since the pandemic began, a total of 63 cases have been confirmed in Aylmer, 34 in Bayham, 28 in St. Thomas and 25 in Tillsonburg, with some municipalities in the health units coverage area reporting a total of 1 or 0 cases.
As of Wednesday, 152 cases have been resolved across the health unit’s coverage area.
The Ontario Health Minister said the province reported 95 new cases of COVID-19 and one death related to the virus today.
Christine Elliott says there were 134 cases newly marked as resolved, continuing a trend of resolved cases outpacing new cases.
She says the number of people in hospital, in intensive care and on a ventilator all dropped today.
The majority of health units in the province recorded five or fewer new cases of the virus as well.
