Highway safety continues to be a priority for the Ontario Provincial Police.
Most OPP patrolled roads are seeing an increase in speeding and impaired driving — two of the what the OPP call the Big Four — since June.
Inspector Krista Miller believes with the pandemic restricting travel, many residents are travelling to nearby towns and cities for their summer holidays.
But she says motorists still need to abide by the rules.
Miller says the number of distracted driving and non-seatbelt use is not as high but it is still important to keep hammering away the message about the dangers of driving and texting, and wearing your seatbelt.
