With many events in the city still falling victim to the COVID-19 pandemic, Railway City Road Races committee member Angie Mailhot has decided to get creative with fundraising this year.
Although the Railway City Road Races are still a go virtually, meaning participants will complete their runs or walks independently, Mailhot will be holding a 12 hour walk for STEGH to help raise some additional funds.
Mailhot says the idea came about when discussing how the change to a virtual race might impact participation and donations.
Mailhot who also owns Railway City Health Hut says many businesses weren’t prepared for the financial impact of COVID-19, and the hospital must also be feeling the impact.
Mailhot will be holding her 12 Hour Walk for STEGH on September 9th from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. and plans to hit every corner of St. Thomas along the way.
To help support Angie Mailhot and the St. Thomas Elgin General Hospital you can make a donation through her link or you can sign yourself up to be a participant in the virtual Railway City Road Races and collect you own pledges.
