With a portion of students heading back to the classroom today for the first time since March, the St. Thomas Police Service will be putting a heavy focus on traffic control and safety in school zones this week.
Corporate Communications Coordinator Tanya Calvert says new this year for their back to school safety blitz is the distribution of speed awareness lawn signs throughout the city and in school zones.
Calvert says drivers will need to give themselves more time in the morning as school buses and increased traffic returns to the roads.
