Southwestern Public Health this morning (Monday) is reporting no new COVID-19 cases in St. Thomas and Elgin, however there are a pair of new cases in Woodstock. That leaves a single ongoing case in Bayham and four in Woodstock.
Of the five cases now being reported, three involve individuals ages 20 to 29. The other two are between the ages of 50 and 69. Four of the impacted individuals are men.
The number of resolved cases holds at 248.
And, the Middlesex-London Health Unit has declared a community outbreak after five Western University students tested positive for the virus.
The expect more positive cases in the coming days because of how many close contacts are involved in the investigation.
The health unit says the people who tested positive attended bars and restaurants in London’s downtown core.
It’s advising anyone who frequented venues in the core of the city to self monitor for symptoms, and to get tested if any surface.
